Mold Testing & Remediation

Mold Testing

It's more common to discover mold growth in homes and buildings than you might think. Some estimates suggest that close to 50% of homes have some amount of mold growth taking place. Considering we live in a rainforest here in BC, it's not too hard to imagine this is the case. Mold absolutely loves moist or damp areas, and once a spore takes root, it can quickly turn into a much larger issue!

What many people don't realize is that spending time in a space that has mold present can cause a wide range of chronic health issues. Just how much mold impacts your health depends on a number of factors including the type of mold present, how much mold is present, how much time you spend in that space, as well as how sensitive you happen to be to the mold spores.

One of the most common times for mold to take root in a home or building is after any kind of water damage. If the water damage is not properly dealt with and dried out, mold can begin to grow within 24 hours.

Left untreated, mold can cause serious problems in homes and buildings. Typically the mold you are able to see is only the tip of the iceberg. It's not until you look below the surface that you are able to see the true extent of the mold issue. Mold thrives in dark spaces, so it's incredibly common to find mold within walls, behind fixtures and furniture, underneath floorboards, and hidden away in the attic.

The first step to getting a handle on any mold issues in your home or building is having the space evaluated and tested by professionals. We'll be able to help you determine the extent of your mold issue and put together a plan to safely remove it.

Mold Remediation

One common misconception when it comes to mold removal is that it's a simple process, and all you need is a bit of bleach to get the job done. This couldn't be further from the truth!

The mold you see on the surface of a home or building is really just the tip of the iceberg. By cleaning up the mold you can see on the surface, you're not taking care of the issue as a whole. It's only a matter of time before you'll be able to see that mold growth again on the surface.

In order to properly deal with a mold issue you need to open things up and discover just how big the issue really is. Once you are able to truly see the extent of the mold growth and damage to building materials, you can begin to remediate. Safe and effective remediation of mold requires a certain amount of care and containment to prevent those mold spores from becoming airborne and taking root in another area of the home or building.

Our teams are trained in the safe removal, handing, and disposal of mold infested materials. This allows you to rest easy knowing the true extent of your mold issue has been dealt with, and you are aware of any potential contributing factors that allowed that mold to take root in the first place.
